To my darling Reuben 22/1/2020

Mummy is sorry that I was impatient with you on Monday night, Mummy was trying to rush my business review slides for my work presentation the next day and was having a hard time with the reconciliation of my sales results, so when you were trying to make conversation with me I got snappy with you.

Later when mummy was putting you to bed, I apologise and you told me that I was very rude to you and mummy deserve that. I shouldn’t have behaved the way I did and I’m glad you forgive me for it. You see Mummy can get frustrated too with work but know that You are still my most important little person and you are reason why I work so hard. Thank you for loving mummy even when I wasn’t at my best.

I love you loads!

Love, Mummy

To my Rachael darling 22/1/2020

This is how I want you to grow up.
In a happy home, a loving home, a safe home.
Smiling when you’re happy, crying when you’re sad and yelling when you’re mad.
I want you to be able to feel emotion, understand emotion and express emotion without being judged.

This is how I want you to grow up.
Learning through mistakes, learning through fun and learning through challenges.
I want to bring you on my travels so that you can gain knowledge through experience and be brave enough to explore the world when you are old enough.

This is how I want you to grow up.
Having good role models, all with various backgrounds and from all walks of life.
Who will teach you kindness, resilience, and empathy.
I want you to learn important lessons, to be open minded and to appreciate your elders no matter how much you don’t feel like it because they offer so much experience for you to learn from.

This is how I want you to grow up.
Not afraid to get your hands and feet dirty
Understanding you are powerful, knowing there are no limits and that you do not need to fit into any box.
I want you to learn that your gender does not define you, that you can seek out the path that makes you happy, can do anything if you set out your mind to do.

This is how I want you to grow up.
With a father who teaches you things and tucks you in at night.
Understanding that there are good men, safe men and loving men out there
I want you to appreciate his love, his affection and his protection over his flock.

This is how I want you to grow up.
Watching me speak, watching me listen and watching me do.
Understanding I’m always there, knowing I want the best for you, keeping me accountable.

I want you to witness my wins, learn from my mistakes and know that I’m doing my best.

This is how I want you to grow up my piglet.

Love, Mummy
